Our guide took us to this old train car. It was used by the president for his campaign. It’s been lovingly kept and everything is original. Great to see the opulence of the day. more »

Only three copies of this model car were built in the United States in 1900 and were allocated to railway companies in the United States, Mexico and Cuba. Built with iron and precious woods, its spatial distribution makes it a real mobile home. It Consists of a Protocol Room, 4 bedrooms, 2 of them belonging to the President and the First Lady; 4 bathrooms, a dining room, kitchen, fridge and terrace. It also Has personalized lingerie furnishings. It Originally had carbide lighting and dry ice ventilation. It Retains its original furniture, including lamps, crockery and silverware set. In 1912 arrives the destined to Cuba and is named Mambí Car, in honor to Tomás Estrada Palma. It Was also known as a Presidential Car as it was put in the service of the successive Presidents of the Republic. After the revolutionary triumph of 1959, it passed to The platform The Garage, in the Terminal of Railways and in 1987 began to be exhibited. There Are pieces of furniture, dining room service, as well as kitchen utensils of the old presidential wagon, which are distinguished by the inscription "Mambí", included in its decoration.
