Said to have been established in 1849 as an experimental station for tropical crops these gardens still keep a certain Victorian-like touch. Quite nice for a peaceful stroll under the numerous cycad.... more »
Beautiful well kept gardens with lovely bird life. There are so many Egyptian geese there this time of year. There are many gorgeous spots to have a picnic and benches all around. I like going there. There is a nice tea room that sells sandwiches and scones. Not enough parking though.
Visited the Durban botanical gardens for the Christmas trail of lights show 2018. A really fun event. Excellent for kids. A beautiful trial of lights and fairytale themes displays. Loads of food Stalls and good entertainment from the band. A really lovely place for family pictures.
