Learn about the city's cultural history and ostrich trade at C.P Nel Museum. Opened in 1972, this attraction remains one of the world's few museums to house a synagogue. Inside, exhibits portray the importance of ostrich trade, plus the town's history during the apartheid era. The museum also features a 30 m (98 ft) high clock tower adorned with Corinthian ornaments--the clock was made in 1902 and imported from England.
