Gerickes Point, Knysna

#3 of 14 in Wildlife in Knysna
Nature / Park · Hidden Gem · Wildlife Area
Puzzle at the odd-looking boulders--including one that resembles a lion--at Gerickes Point, a beach accessible during low tide only. Mingle among fishers standing like guards along the shore, or cast some bait into the water yourself. Stroll along the sand, look out for dolphins and porpoises, and pack some snacks to enjoy. Receding tides leave shallow pools with sea anemones, sea cucumbers, and small fish. • Breathtakingly beautiful!! A scenic walk for any and everyone! Best to do on low tide - so make sure you've checked out the tides first 😉
  • Excellent spot. Nice beach that is away from most busy beaches. There is life guards in season. You can walk to lion rock and look at the rock pools at low tide. You can also fish.
