This is an exceptionally beautiful and beautifully renovated building not far from the Colon monument. It also has a very pretty garden that is used by the restaurant as an outdoor terrace. Do not hesitate to go in and stroll around the grounds, even if you're not interested in maritime art and artifacts.

Being a student of nautical archaeology and a big history lover I fell in immediate love with this museum. It did not hurt that I was able to escape the shopping and tourist hordes to be found in other parts of Barcelona. To be sure, the most eye-catching display is clearly the exquisite full-scale reproduction of the Royal Galley. It’s location under one of the grand arches, very much like many of the ships built here in centuries past gave the impression of a cathedral dedicated to ship building. Any maritime history lover or any lover of sailing or boats will enjoy spending hours here. Great multi-language support on the signage.
