Barcelona, the country’s second-largest city, is a cosmopolitan urban center known for its throbbing youthful energy and stellar architecture.
You'll get in some beach time at Playa de La Barceloneta and Cala de l'Illa Roja. Get out of town with these interesting Barcelona side-trips: Cala Banys (in Lloret de Mar), Aigua Xelida (in Tamariu) and Far de Sant Sebastia (in Llafranc). There's still lots to do: visit El Barri Gòtic, admire the landmark architecture of Basilica of the Sagrada Familia, get to know the fascinating history of Las Ramblas, and steep yourself in history at Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar.
