Founded in the 10th century as a Viking fishing village, Copenhagen has morphed into the cultural, political, and economic powerhouse of the country.
Popular historic sites such as Nyhavn and Frederiksborg Slotskirke are in your itinerary. Kids will appreciate attractions like Tivoli Gardens and Our Saviour's Church. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Copenhagen: Store Heddinge (Hoejerup Gamle Kirke & Stevns Klint), Fredensborg Palace (in Fredensborg) and Kronborg (in Helsingoer). Next up on the itinerary: step into the grandiose world of Rosenborg Castle, take in panoramic vistas at Rundetarn, explore the different monuments and memorials at Assistens Cemetery, and wander the streets of Stroeget.

Malaga, Spain to Copenhagen is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also take a train; or drive. Traveling from Malaga in July, things will get a bit cooler in Copenhagen: highs are around 26°C and lows about 14°C. On the 20th (Mon), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can drive to Roskilde.

The capital of the island of Funen, Odense represents the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen, who penned such classics as "The Little Mermaid" and "The Ugly Duckling." Denmark's third-largest city proudly displays its link to the famous writer with museums, sculptures, and public art installations dedicated to Andersen and his stories.
Start off your visit on the 21st (Tue): pause for some serene contemplation at Sct. Albani Church.

LEGOLAND Billund has been added to your itinerary. Your inner history buff will appreciate Kaj Munks Praestegaard and Mandoe Kirke. Troejborg Slotsruin and Nollund Church are good opportunities to explore the local culture.
