Arguably the most modern of Central American cities, Panama City boasts a shimmering skyline of glass skyscrapers.
For shopping fun, head to Multicentro Mall or Weil Art Gallery. Take a break from the city and head to Blue Adventures Panama and Scuba & Snorkeling. There's lots more to do: appreciate the extensive heritage of Casco Viejo, don't miss a visit to Plaza Bolivar, get engrossed in the history at Museo del Canal Interoceanico de Panama, and delve into the distant past at Panama La Vieja.

The colorful and relaxed Bocas Town has a welcoming atmosphere, with the modestly sized urban area showcasing typical Caribbean clapboard houses and home to a mixed community from across the world.
Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute and Plastic Bottle Village are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Take a break from the city and head to Bastimentos National Park and Starfish Beach. Change things up with these side-trips from Bocas Town: Wizard Beach (in Isla Bastimentos) and Playa Bluff (in Bluff Beach). It doesn't end there: see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour and get a taste of the local shopping with Up In The Hill.

Traveling from Panama City in July, expect nights in Bocas Town to be about the same, around 30°C, while days are little chillier, around 30°C. You'll set off for Boquete on the 28th (Sun).

Now known internationally for its fresh mountain air, year-round pleasant temperatures, and large community of North American expats, Boquete has changed rapidly since the start of the century, changing from a humble mountain town, into a humble mountain surrounded by gated communities and estates.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like Volcan Baru National Park and Los Cangilones de Gualaca. Take a break from the city and head to River Rafting & Tubing and Los Ladrillos. There's still lots to do: relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas, enjoy some diversion at Boquete Buggies, step off the mainland to explore Cayo Zapatilla, and get a taste of the local shopping with The Zapadora.

Santa Catalina

Since Santa Catalina became known in the international surfing community in the 1970s, it has done well to maintain its identity as a tucked-away fishing village.
Start off your visit on the 1st (Thu): meet some fierce fish with a shark diving experience. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: get a taste of life in the country at Rancho Estero and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Lagartero Beach.

You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Gaital National Park and El Palmar Beach. Escape the urban bustle at Leading Adventures and Butterfly Haven. You'll find plenty of places to visit near El Valle de Anton: Farallon Butterflies (in Farallon) and Vista Mar Golf Beach & Marina (in San Carlos).
