Northern Cape travel guide
Highlights from a Northern Cape itinerary include rock climbing among the mountains and learning about the region's diamond-mining history. See a former excavation site--now filled with water--that claims to be the world's largest hole excavated by hand. Although partially covered in desert, the region blooms in spring, when the spectacle of vast fields of flowers generates an influx of tourism to the Northern Cape, the largest and most sparsely populated region of South Africa.
