You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Explore Budapest's surroundings by going to Ur Eleonora Batik Art Gallery (in Szentendre) and Nagyvillam Ski Slope (in Visegrad). There's still lots to do: admire the landmark architecture of Hungarian Parliament Building, pause for some photo ops at Shoes on the Danube Bank, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent Istvan Bazilika), and contemplate the long history of Heroes' Square.

Istanbul, Turkey to Budapest is an approximately 4- hour combination of flight and bus. You can also drive; or take a bus. The time zone changes from Turkey Time to Central European Standard Time, which is usually a -2 hour difference. Plan for slightly colder nights when traveling from Istanbul in December since evenings lows in Budapest dip to -1°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 31st (Fri) to allow time to travel back home.
