Mother City

Sweeping beaches, towering hilltops, and picturesque vineyards adorn the landscape of Cape Town, dominated by the imposing Table Mountain.
Take a break from the city and head to Clifton Beaches and Robben Island Museum. You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Camp's Bay Beach and Fish Hoek Beach. Step out of Cape Town with an excursion to Dorp Street in Stellenbosch--about 50 minutes away. There's lots more to do: take in nature's colorful creations at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, have fun at Long Street Baths, hike along Platteklip Gorge, and admire all the interesting features of Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.

Johannesburg to Cape Town is an approximately 4.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. In December, plan for daily highs up to 30°C, and evening lows to 18°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 20th (Wed) early enough to travel back home.
