Walk in the footsteps of ancient Egyptians at Luxor Temple, a World Heritage Site constructed some time around 1400 BCE. The large sandstone temples, granite monoliths, and giant colossi were designed to celebrate the idea of pharaohs as kings and gods, rather than any particular god or individual pharaoh. As you pass through the vast site, notice the different additions made by non-Egyptian civilizations--special highlights include Roman murals and a mosque. • When you visit the Luxor Temple there is so much to see that the obelisk can be overlooked or only given a brief glance. If you’ve ever been to the Vatican, you know what I mean. There is a giant...

  • Felt like I was transported back into ancient times. The whole temple was stunning. It was tourist friendly, no scammers. Definitely visit again

  • Very nice. I arrived before sunset and got to enjoy golden hour here, but many other tourists had the same idea. I stayed for the night as reviews wrote it looked nicely lit but I think it looks better in the sun. Quite expensive, maybe 200LE? Can't remember.
  • Luxor temple is supposed to be awesome at any time, however, it is too crowded until 19:00. Better to visit between 19:00 and 20:00 and enjoy the temple with beautiful light. Currently (October 2021) there is a construction work being doing, but I'm not sure if it is about building a permanent entertainment scene or it is just a temporary construction.
